SOMEWHERE BETWEEN CDMX AND CPH W. CARYS

Carys moves between Copenhagen and Mexico City throughout the year. Two cities with completely different rhythms, light and energy, both shaping the way she lives, dresses and moves through everyday life.

From slower mornings in Copenhagen to long lunches and late dinners in CDMX, she returns to the same kinds of places in both cities. Spaces rooted in atmosphere, ritual, design and a feeling of ease. Cafés filled with sunlight, neighbourhood walks, markets, architecture and objects collected slowly over time.

Dressed in her most worn I RUI pieces, she moves between the two worlds instinctively. Quietly personal, earthy and intuitive.

NEIGHBOURHOOD PLACES CDMX

AMSTERDAM CIRCLE
She often walks here in the mornings replying to voicenotes before the streets fully wake up.

CAFÉ TRUCHA
One of her regular spots for slower breakfasts, cacao, matcha or coffee in the sun. Casual, easy and somewhere she can spend hours moving between work and conversation.

LA RIFA
Her favourite place for authentic Mexican cacao. She always orders the cold cacao served in a jícara and brings bags of 100% cacao home with her to Copenhagen.

MEDELLÍN MARKET
Her local market for flowers, incense, produce and small everyday rituals. One of the places that makes daily life in CDMX feel grounding and familiar.

CASA PEDREGAL
One of her favourite architectural spaces in the city. The volcanic landscape, quiet geometry and natural materials feel deeply connected to Mexico City itself.

ARCA TIERRA
A regenerative agriculture project in Xochimilco focused on preserving chinampas and traditional food systems. A meaningful way to connect with food, nature and slower rhythms within the city.

LAGUNA CYPRIEN
A beautifully curated space for natural home and personal products. Thoughtful scents, oils and objects that align closely with the way she likes to live.

VORAZ
One of her favourite restaurants in the city for contemporary Mexican food. Usually shared plates, margaritas and long dinners with friends.

BALDÍO
A regenerative, zero waste restaurant she returns to often. Rooted in seasonal Mexican ingredients, fermentation and a slower approach to dining.

SMALL RITUALS
Fresh fruit markets, jacaranda trees, blended cacao in the mornings, flowers from Medellín market and dinners that slowly stretch later into the night.

NEIGHBOURHOOD PLACES COPENHAGEN

CHRISTIANSHAVN CANALS
One of the places she walks the most whenever she is back in Copenhagen. Especially in the mornings before the area becomes busy. The water surrounding the neighbourhood makes the city feel slower and quieter.

LILLE BAKERY
Still one of her most visited places despite the crowds. Usually for slower mornings, coffee and a sausage or mushroom roll before walking through Christianshavn and Holmen.

IO いほ
A small tea house she returns to often for quiet afternoons. The space feels peaceful and intentional, centred around consciously sourced tea and slower rituals.

SING
Usually for matcha meetings with friends. Matcha is always served on a tray with cold tea and mochi, which makes the experience feel thoughtful and calm.

HANS
Very Copenhagen in a way that feels effortless rather than performative. Good matcha, organic pastries and ingredients sourced from local farms.

TADAIMA
One of her favourite interiors and objects stores in Copenhagen. A mix of design classics, ceramics, textiles and smaller artists she always ends up discovering something from.

SIGNATUR
One of her regular grocery shops for organic produce and pantry staples. Daily rituals in Copenhagen tend to revolve around cooking at home and sourcing ingredients slowly.

GRØNT MARKED
The Sunday organic farmers market she visits whenever possible. Seasonal produce, flowers and local farms gathered across different neighbourhoods in the city.

LA BANCHINA
A place she returns to throughout the warmer months for morning coffee, long lunches, harbour swims and evenings by the water.

ALF
One of her favourite dinner spots in the city. Elevated without feeling formal, with flavours and textures that always feel surprising.

BAR VITRINE
A small wine bar she returns to often for natural wine and Indian inspired share plates. Usually busy and always worth squeezing into.

SMALL RITUALS
Bike rides through Christianshavn, harbour swims, flowers from nearby markets, candles in the evening and mornings with windows open toward the water.
